BLmini troubleshooting steps

If you are having trouble connecting your tool to your truck, please follow the steps below:

Ensure the BLmini is connected/paired to your phone via Bluetooth and that no other devices are connected/paired.

  1. Ensure the key is in the ignition and the truck is on but NOT started.
  2. Connect directly to the diagnostic port and do not connect through an ELD or Y-splitter.
    • Ensure the BLmini is receiving power (the LED light will be green).
  3. Unpair the BLmini from your device in your Bluetooth settings, then re-pair the BLmini.
  4. Ensure you are using the proper adapter(s), if applicable:
    • For 2014+ Volvo/Mack engines, use the Volvo/Mack adapter.
    • For 2016–2021 Paccar MX engines, do not use the Paccar adapter.
  5. Open the OTR Diagnostics app and select Connect.
  6. Wait for the app to connect to the vehicle.
  7. If unable to connect, force close the app, reopen it, and attempt to connect again.
  8. If still unsuccessful, uninstall and reinstall the app, then try again.
