Troubleshooting Connection Issues - BLmini

If you are having trouble connecting your tool to your truck, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:

Ensure the BLmini is connected/paired to your phone via Bluetooth and that no other devices are connected/paired.

NOTE: You can reference the BLmini manual here.

  1. Ensure the key is in the ignition and the truck is on but NOT started.

  2. Connect directly to the diagnostic port and do not connect through an ELD or Y-splitter.

    • Ensure the BLmini is receiving power (the LED light will be green)

  3. Unpair the BLmini from your device in your Bluetooth settings, and then repair the BLmini to your device.

  4. Ensure you are using the proper adapter(s), if applicable.

    • For 2014+ Volvo/Mack engines, use the Volvo/Mack adapter.

    • For 2016-2021 Paccar MX engines, DO NOT use the Paccar adapter.

  5. Open the OTR Diagnostics App and select “connect.”

  6. Wait for the app to connect to the vehicle.

  7. Force close the app if you are unable to connect, then reopen the app and attempt to connect again

  8. If the previous step does not allow you to connect, uninstall and reinstall the app and attempt to connect again.
